Are there any store or product requirements?

Loss Leader is available for well-established Shopify stores located within the US. Loss Leader requires shipment from a US-based warehouse with delivery within a maximum of 14 days, prices in $USD.
Stores must use Shopify checkout, include shipping times and a valid contact page, and all products and stores must meet our requirements below.

To maintain the integrity of our platform and the trust of our customers, sellers must agree to the Terms & Conditions - Loss Leader App.

Intellectual Property

  • Tophatter strictly prohibits the listing of counterfeit products.
    • Products that attempt to mimic or duplicate the likeness of a well-known brand or product are illegal to sell and prohibited on Tophatter. Product listings for counterfeit items will be disabled, and the seller may be terminated from selling on the platform.
  • Tophatter prohibits the listing of products that infringe on the intellectual property rights of others.
    • Products listed on Tophatter and any content used in product listings must not infringe upon the intellectual property rights of others. This includes trademarks, copyrights, and patents. Products found to be violating intellectual property rights will be disabled, and the seller may be terminated from selling on the platform.
  • Tophatter can request proof of authorization to sell a product at any time and the seller is required to provide this proof. 
    • The burden of providing proof of authorization falls to the seller. If a seller fails to provide proof, the seller may be terminated from selling on the platform. Falsifying proof of authorization is prohibited, and submission of falsified receipts, invoices, and/or authorizations will result in termination from selling on the platform.
    • If Tophatter determines at their sole discretion that any listed products trespass upon intellectual property rights, the account may be terminated from selling on the platform.

Products

  • Tophatter vets stores and products to maintain a high level of variety and quality on the platform and requires a good product-market fit.
    • Products that are not of suitable quality for our market will be disabled. 
    • Stores that are not a good match for our market will not be permitted to sell on the platform.
  • Tophatter requires accurate information and details to be provided in the listing.
    • Providing inaccurate listing information can result in the product being disabled. Tophatter will request the seller correct misleading product listings. Sellers with excessive misleading products risk termination from selling on the platform.
  • Product listings that are considered to be deliberately misleading are prohibited.
    • Product listings that intentionally attempt to mislead or inflate the value of the product are disallowed. The products will be disabled and Tophatter will request the seller correct misleading product listings. Sellers with multiple deliberately misleading products risk termination from selling on the platform.
  • Listing prohibited products on Tophatter is disallowed.
    • Tophatter strictly regulates what can and cannot be sold on the platform, and the responsibility of actively monitoring what products are disallowed falls to the seller. Listings for prohibited products will be disabled, and the seller may be terminated from selling on the platform. Ratings

  • Rating manipulation, or falsely inflating the ratings or reviews of your products is strictly prohibited.
    • Dishonestly increasing the reviews or ratings of your own products by submitting false reviews, shipping false products, requesting only positive ratings from buyers, offering a buyer a free product or another benefit for a false or influenced rating, or by any and all other means carries the penalty of immediate termination from selling on the platform.
  • Products and stores must maintain a one-star rating percentage below the platform average.
    • Failure to meet minimum rating requirements may result in your product being blocked from the platform or failing to get scheduled. 
    • An account-level one-star rating percentage above the platform average will result in termination from selling on the platform. 

Shipping

  • Stores must include a Shipping Policy page and a valid Contact page. 
    • Products must be shipped from the US and must be delivered to buyers within a maximum timeframe of 14 days. 
    • Products must be shipped with sufficient postage.
    • Sellers with excessive shipping issues risk reduction in scheduling and may be terminated from selling on the platform.

Stores

  • Sellers may not sell with multiple stores that represent the same product mix, identity, or brand, or to circumvent a suspension from our platform.
